Trust and Safety in Platform Work in Norway

We are delighted to be hosting a breakfast briefing focused on trust and safety in platform work. Given that there is a template to request reclassification circulating; a push for platform workers to be employed; and new regulation being touted. We want to discuss the current situation in Norway by bringing together decision-makers, opinion-formers and a broad group of stakeholders. This will be a Norwegian language event.

OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP

The goal of the event is to:

  • Bring together relevant stakeholders and shape how the platform sector is perceived. The focus will be on trust and safety.
  • Push for industry standards to react to current concerns.
  • Discuss the future of work and the changes to the labour market brought about by digitalisation, as well as the changing demands of companies and individuals.
  • Underline best in class examples from other countries.

Trust and Security in Platform Work

Panelists: Ministry official, Political party representative, Wolt, Foodora, Virke

Moderated by Freelance Movement

This will be an opportunity for stakeholders to share how the platform sector is dealing with trust and safety issues related to platform work. Industry standards should be highlighted as a way to proactively address concerns from stakeholders. This discussion should deal with any worries that currently exist.

In terms of themes, these will cover:

  • What should be the Norwegian approach to ensuring trust and safety in platform work?
  • How should industry standards look and what are the main criteria which need to be covered?
  • What should legislators and decision-makers be careful of?
  • Are there helpful facts, figures and case studies that industry can provide?
  • Overall, how should platform work be approached and developed in Norway, and what should be avoided?

09:30 - Event ends
